ABOUT US |
dtour is an Australian online Christian community discussing issues of community, culture, faith & ministry in the emerging postmodern world.
Many people are looking around and realising in the words of Dorothy "This is not Kansas anymore" It is not the 60's, 70's, 80's or 90's but we have launched into a whole new millenium. Society has changes, ethics, politics, philosophy and the way people think is vastly different from what seems like yesterday and the church is groaning in that change.
This transition is being refered to as postmodernism. No one yet knows what to call it but we have moved from a modern era into something that is still uncharted territory.
There is a ground swell of change occuring in the emerging generation, those 18-35, throughout the world. Some people are standing on the sidelines throwing rocks at the postmodern change but many are running with the challenges and starting new church communities that are shaped very differently to those who have led before.

| SO WHO IS DTOUR |
Malcolm Hawker along with some encouraging supporters have pulled together the resources to enable the discussion to go online. While this is not the only place in Australia postmodern discussion is occuring, it is hoped that dtour will contribute to the ongoing discussion and in some way help to shape the future of the Church here in this country.
The site has been entirely self funded without the support of any group. So We hope the discussion will draw people from many church backgrounds.
The easiest way to participate is to kick back grab a coffee and join in the discussion in the comfort of your home. You can do it by joining the forums, chat with friends or meet new people online.
We hope you will find dtour a safe place to gain information, resources, and fresh ideas and spark your imagination of what could be in your own community. You will meet others who are taking a similar journey learning a fresh the ministry of Jesus to a postmodern generation. We also hope that anyone who is looking to find out how to grow as a follower of Jesus will also find the relavent information to more effectively minister for the sake of this world.
We invite you to take the journey! |
